You’ve seen Alexandra Daddario in everything from the Percy Jackson film series to New Girl and American Horror Story: Hotel. But you haven’t seen her in something quite like HBO’s new show The White Lotus. The social satire is a true ensemble piece; Daddario costars alongside Connie Britton, Jennifer Coolidge, Jake Lacy, and others as guests visiting a luxurious Hawaiian resort. Created by writer, producer, and actor Mike White, the series is a fascinating exploration of privilege, entitlement, and wealth. It has an impressive 86% rating on Rotten Tomatoes

“It’s so nice to be in something that people like,” Daddario tells Glamour. “I loved it and I loved shooting it, and I’m obsessed with Mike White to an unhealthy degree. So I am delighted that people are getting the show and know what he’s trying to say, and it’s just cool to be part of that.”

Alexandra Daddario has more obsessions besides Mike White. In Glamour’s latest edition of Your Fave’s Faves, she spills on everything bringing her joy these days—from swimwear to sunglasses to the impulse purchase she couldn’t resist.

The most comfortable sneakers I own

I’m obsessed with this pair of Allbirds I have that are soft-sweatshirt material. I’m obsessed with them because you don’t have to wear socks with them. Your feet don’t get all clammy, because it’s like a sweatshirt for your feet. They’re so comfortable, and you can just throw them in the washing machine when they get dirty. Mine are white, so I throw them in the washing machine a lot. The sweatpants material on them is amazing.

My favorite red-carpet look I’ve worn

There was a short pink floral dress I wore to the premiere of the Nicholas Sparks movie, The Choice. At first I was like, “No, I’m not going to wear it. It’s too girly. I don’t know.” And God, I forget the name of the designer, but I was so anti-the-dress at first for some reason. I was like, “It’s not me. It’s girly.” And then when I saw the photos of myself, I thought, I’m glad I trusted my publicist and my stylist because it’s so beautiful.” And I really loved that dress. It just goes to show that I had these preconceived notions about my fashion or what I like, and it taught me that I’m really bad at dressing, which I knew because when I’m in charge of my red-carpet looks, I’m on a worst-dressed list. So I remember thinking, Oh, this is going to be terrible, and then it was one of my favorites.

The impulse late-night purchase I made during quarantine

I did plenty of online shopping during quarantine. Most of it I didn’t need. We all had that problem in quarantine where it’s like, “I have to have this at three in the morning.” So I ordered a new luggage set from Paravel. I don’t know why I have so much luggage, but I was convinced this was the luggage set of my dreams. And now it’s been sitting in my closet, and I don’t even use it. I still use my Away luggage. But it was very elegant-looking luggage. So that was dumb, but hey, it’s pretty!

The swimwear line I’m obsessed with

When we were filming, I rationalized buying lots of swimsuits based on the fact there was paparazzi on the beach. Like, they can’t see me in the same bikini every time! [Laughs.] There was a store in the Four Seasons in Wailea that we stayed in, so I got some there. And then I also love Saltwater Collective. They make beautiful suits, really sexy one-pieces, and also great bikinis. I love their stuff. It’s simple, but it fits very well. I have one in my bag right now, which I don’t know why because I’m in Budapest, but it’s bright blue, and it’s a really pretty one-piece. One of my favorites is a nude bikini I have.

My favorite sunglasses

I love my Illesteva sunglasses. I know I like something when I wear it for more than a year. I take them with me everywhere.

My favorite snack on set

Piña coladas. I think I had a piña colada every other day. When I’m working, I don’t drink piña coladas, but we had the same food every day because you would order from room service. I always got a plate of spaghetti and a coconut ceviche thing with taro root chips. We also ordered takeout for a change of pace, so we were doing a lot of Thai.

The skin-care products I always rely on

I love Vintner’s Daughter. It’s a very expensive face oil, but it’s so amazing. It can replace your moisturizer, it’s that good. On the other hand, my favorite lip balm only costs, like, $2. I used to get it at the random drugstore near my house, but now I order it in bulk on Amazon, and they are all over my boyfriend’s apartment. It’s called the Cocoa Butter Lip Balm from Cococare. Sunscreen is another thing I always have with me, but I’m not tied to any one particular brand. As long as I have it, that’s all that matters. And I always carry a baseball cap with me too.

The TV show I can’t get enough of

Too Hot to Handle, season two. I’m in the middle of that right now and am very into it, but I accidentally saw that two of the characters end up together, and I’m very bummed that I got a spoiler. But, oh well. It’s just a very funny show to watch.

My favorite book to read

I have become obsessed with the Fitzgeralds. I reread The Great Gatsby, which really hits differently as an adult after you’ve had love and heartbreak and not.… It’s so funny that they have you read it in school before you go through any of those experiences. You don’t really understand it. So reading it as an adult is such a profound experience, and I became obsessed with him and Zelda and their relationship. I also read a book of their love letters. It’s their real letters, and it touches on the war and the world around them, but their real focus is themselves and what’s going on in their lives.
