Larry Elder Wins Court Battle Against Democrats Playing Dirty to Keep Him Out of California Recall Election

Radio show host Larry Elder must have had Democrats worried as they tried to get him disqualified from the recall election against Gavin Newsom in California. Now, after a recent court ruling, they’re probably terrified.

As reported by SFGate, Elder was the target of, what he called, “shenanigans” by state election officials aligned with Newsom who claimed that Elder filed an incomplete federal tax return, which is required to become a candidate. The talk radio host fought back in court, seeking an order to rule that he more than met the qualifications and had complied with every requirement.

According to various sources, including attorney Harmeet Dhillon, a Sacramento judge has ruled in favor of Elder and smacked down the idea that Elder needed to provide tax returns in the first place, given the fact that this election is a recall election and not a primary election.

Judge orders California to include Larry Elder on the ballot in California recall election. Says tax returns were never required in the first place for a recall as opposed to a primary election.

NEW: @larryelder will be on the recall ballot.

Sac Superior Court Judge rules that SB 27, tax return disclosure, does not apply to recall ballots, and therefore Larry Elder wasn’t even required to file tax returns at all.

According to Deadline, in issuing the ruling Superior Court Judge Laurie Earl said, “I don’t find that Mr. Elder was required to file tax returns at all.”

“California judge rules that the election law Elder allegedly violated DID NOT EVEN APPLY to a recall election AND even if it did, Elder “SUBSTANTIALLY COMPLIED.” I will be on the ballot,” Elder tweeted out shortly after the verdict.

So, with that, Elder is now back on track to run for the governor of California against a Democrat party that clearly doesn’t want him there.

Elder’s inclusion into the race will be a troubling one for Democrats looking to maintain their power over the state. His status as a high-profile Republican may generate a great deal of momentum for voters to turn out to vote yes on the recall, putting Democrats further on the backfoot than they already are.
