OUR TAKE: The new generation of off-road gear is truly focused on basic rider needs as far as movement, comfort and durability. The Moto 4.5 Lite jacket is a lightweight garment that’s not designed for blowing snow or arctic winds. When the temps dip, it wards off wind abuse nicely. The four-way-stretch material allows excellent movement while providing good climate control and, more important, ample brush protection. The two front zippered vents are huge, and there is a back pocket to store the sleeves when removed.
NEGATIVE: This jacket is sized on the small size. Our 6-foot, 175-pound test rider wore a size large that was on the snug side. Anyone heftier would need an XL. The two front vents also act as pockets. We’d prefer at least one smaller pocket that would fit a cell phone and a rag to clean our goggles.

Huge pockets provide additional ventilation, but aren’t great for storage.
and The sleeves zip off transforming the 4.5 Lite jacket into a very trail suitable vest.

BOTTOM LINE: We’ve come to expect high quality, durability and precision fit from the Leatt lineup, and the jacket further enforces that belief. It’s the type of garment that never leaves your gear bag and is a huge boon when the temperature dips and the winds start to whistle.
