LAS VEGAS – If there are any jitters before his first UFC fight, Manuel Torres isn’t really showing them.

Torres (12-2 MMA, 0-0 UFC) will step into the octagon for the first time Saturday when he meets Frank Camacho (22-9 MMA, 2-5 UFC) in a lightweight bout at UFC on ESPN 36.

Camacho is returning from a layoff of nearly two years, and has been known to be in some proverbial wars. Torres said he can expect that in their main-card fight – but he’s also counting on a finish.

“He’s a tough opponent, he has a lot of experience, and I’m really excited to fight someone like that in my (UFC) debut,” Torres said at Wednesday’s media day for UFC on ESPN 36. “I’d love to be in a war with him. I always respect my opponents, but I’m here to knock out people. That’s what I like. That’s what I love: I love to knock out my opponents.”

UFC on ESPN 36 takes place Saturday at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. The main card airs on ESPN2 and streams on ESPN+ following prelims on ESPN2/ESPN+.
