The following items were taken from area police department reports and news releases. An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt.

Arrest

Andrei Cravcenco, 24, of the 4800 block of West Ainslie Street, Chicago, on Sept. 19 was charged with speeding after a traffic stop in the 4900 block of North Harlem Avenue, police said.

Edward Meza, 22, of the 4600 block of North Drake Avenue, Chicago, on Sept. 17 was charged with driving on a revoked/suspended license, operating an uninsured vehicle and improperly displaying a license plate after a traffic stop at West Montrose and Narragansett Avenues, police said.

Farya Jamal, 30, of the 400 block of West Oakdale Avenue, Chicago, on Sept. 16 was charged with driving on a suspended license after a traffic accident at West Sunnyside Avenue and North Narragansett avenues, police said.

Deceptive practices

A woman on Sept. 16 reported to police that a check she had written to one payee for $1,377 had been altered to another payee for $6,377.

Theft

The catalytic converter on Sept. 16 was reported stolen from a 2006 Toyota Prius parked at Shell, 4555 Nagle Ave.

Arrest

Elliot Medina, 45, of the 4100 block of North Oriole Avenue, Norridge, on Sept. 4 was charged with domestic battery, police said.

Forgery

A woman on Sept. 16 reported to police that a cashier’s check made out to one payee in the amount of $63,945.90 had been cashed by another person.

A man on Sept. 15 reported to police that a check he had written to one payee for $57.72 had been altered to another payee for $8,500.71.
