Two bantamweight fighters on the bubble of the UFC rankings will collide at the promotion’s August pay-per-view event.

Casey Kenney and Song Yadong have been booked to fight one another at UFC 265, the Aug. 7 event. While a location and venue haven’t formally been announced, Houston is the current frontrunner to host the card.

Two people with knowledge of the matchup informed MMA Junkie of the booking Monday but asked to remain anonymous since the promotion has yet to make an official announcement.

Kenney (16-3-1 MMA, 5-2 UFC) looks to rebound after a unanimous decision loss to former UFC bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz at UFC 259 in March. Prior to that defeat, Kenney had rattled off three straight wins over Louis Smolka, Heili Alateng and Nathaniel Wood.

After three straight wins to kick off his UFC tenure, China’s Yadong (15-5-1 MMA, 5-1-1 UFC) has had mixed results over his last three as he’s gone 1-1-1. Following a majority draw against Cody Stamann, Yadong defeated Marlon Vera via unanimous decision in May. In his most recent outing, Yadong lost for the first time since 2016 when he was defeated by Kyler Phillips via unanimous decision.

With the addition, the UFC 265 lineup now includes:

  • Champ Amanda Nunes vs. Julianna Pena – for women’s bantamweight title
  • Jose Aldo vs. Pedro Munhoz
  • Vince Morales vs. Drako Rodriguez
  • Johnny Munoz vs. Jamey Simmons
  • Casey Kenney vs. Song Yadong
