Manon Fiorot isn’t buying into her own hype going into UFC Fight Night 195.

Fiorot (7-1 MMA, 2-0 UFC), who comes highly touted out of France, makes her third octagon appearance on Saturday when she meets Mayra Bueno Silva (7-1-1 MMA, 2-1-1 UFC) in a women’s flyweight bout at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. The card streams on ESPN+.

After back-to-back knockout wins to begin her UFC tenure, Fiorot is already garnering attention as a potential title contender in a 125-pound division where champion Valentina Shevchenko is in desperate need of a test.

Fiorot said she’s not getting sucked into the hype, though. The 31-year-old is only on the verge of his 10th professional fight, and thinks a gradual climb would be best for her development.

“I take this step-by-step,” Fiorot told MMA Junkie through an interpreter at Wednesday’s UFC Fight Night 195 media day. “The first step is I want to win this fight by knockout. It’s very important for me. If I do that and when I do that, I want a top-10 fighter.”

Fiorot sees Silva as a good style matchup to accomplish her goal. She’s shown precise striking in her fights thus far, and expects to use those same weapons to put down Silva.

“I really like her style,” Fiorot said. “I think if she goes like usually and goes straight I can finish the fight and put her down by knockout in the first or the second round.”
