UFC Vegas 40: Aspen Ladd vs. Norma Dumont fight card, start time, channel guide.
A women’s featherweight showdown between third-ranked bantamweight contender Aspen Ladd and rising star Norma Dumont takes center stage at UFC Vegas 40.
Dumont was originally scheduled to face former UFC bantamweight champion, Holly Holm before she withdrew due to injury. Dumont is coming off of back-to-back wins over Felicia Spencer and Ashlee Evans-Smith.
Ladd will fill in on short notice after originally being scheduled to face Macy Chiasson at UFC Vegas 39 last weekend before the fight was canceled following a challenging weight cut. Ladd has had her fair share of battles on the scales, and last competed against Yana Kunitskaya in a knockout win at UFC on ESPN 7.
Dupont has elite striking to go along with a relentless grappling game, which could challenge Ladd. The Ladd vs. Dumont main event comes at a time in which the UFC is desperately seeking clarity with the 145-pound division.
Both fighters are seeking a shot at the UFC bantamweight and featherweight champion, Amanda Nunes, who will defend her bantamweight title at UFC 269.
UFC Vegas 40 also will feature the return of former heavyweight titleholder Andrei Arlovski as he faces Carlos Felipe. Rising middleweight contender Andrew Sanchez will face Bruno Silva, and fan-favorite Julian Marquez battles Jordan Wright in a middleweight bout.
The card will also host a flyweight bout between Manon Fiorot and Mayra Bueno Silva, who were slated to compete at UFC Vegas 39 last weekend.
