Tennessee Titans wideout A.J. Brown is wasting no time making his new teammate Julio Jones feel at home.

Only hours after the Titans completed a trade to acquire Jones from the Atlanta Falcons, Brown told reporters he’s trying to switch jersey numbers so Jones can continue wearing No. 11.

“You know, I’m trying to be a good teammate and look out for him and let him go out on the right foot,” Brown said. “… All the jersey purchases, just stop for awhile. Just give it like a month.”

Brown, a 2019 second-round pick, wore No. 1 in college but the Titans retired that number for quarterback Warren Moon. When the NFL expanded the range of numbers position players can choose from, the Ole Miss product briefly considered asking Moon’s permission to wear No. 1. He then learned more about the Hall of Famer’s illustrious career and changed his mind.

@WMoon1 I was about to bother you and ask you Is there anyway I could wear the #1 until I read your Bio 😳I’m not even deserving tbh. Thank you for everything you’ve done for the game. Legend!! Salute!!

One thing that’s clear about Brown already—he has the upmost respect for the game’s greats, regardless of whether they’re still playing or not.
